This a first edition of Stevenson’s sixth published novel, an adventure story of two brother set against the backdrop of Jacobite rising of 1745. Binding with some rubbing and bumping to extremities and along edges, including the head and tail of the spine. Spine lightly stained and cocked. Back cover with some dark smudges. Light stains to the bottom of the book block. Interior with starting at pages, 112, 128, 160, 240, and 288. Light stains to the interior back cover and rear free endpapers.
