Wise at the Jewish Institute of Religion seminary. He is best known for his post-World War II work, where he helped foster the restoration and growth of Jewish libraries. He served as secretary to the Jewish Cultural Reconstruction and president of the Jewish Librarians Association, (predecessor of the current Association of Jewish Libraries).
