First edition. 8vo., 31pp. Original illustrated wrappers with red, white and black lettering on cover. Brochure by the Anti-Nazi Movement with poetry, essays, photographs, illustrations and posters dedicated to the history of Anti-Nazi Movement in Germany during the years 1933-1945. Karl Raddatz gives a short historical overview on Anti-Nazi activities with some statistical data on the sociological background of the members of the resistance and even with a map by the Gestapo (the Secret State Police) which provides data on the number of arrests in different parts of Germany. Hellmut Bock describes in his essay members of the resistance as lone fighters, since they needed special characteristic in order to resist the mass propaganda. Photographs of Walter Husemann, Olga Benairo, Herbert Tschaepe are representing those who were executed. Provost Gruber, one of the legendary personalities, in the encounter of the church with the Nazi regime, writes about the responsibility of the church as being only devoted to the truth. Elfriede Nebgen dedicated her essay to the men of the 20 July plot, one of the atttempts to assassinate Hitler, in 1944. In addition there is an article by Hans Seigewasser, whose essay describes the partisans and the photographic picture of the sculpture “Totentanz” (Dance of the Dead) by the resistance fighter Kurt Schuhmacher, who was executed in 1942. Eva Lippold certainly creates awareness to the fact, that even women are not mentioned (except for Olga Benairo), women were active and behind everything which was to resist the NS-regime. Enriched and added to the different layers of resistance are potry by Harro Schulze-Boysen, Otto Gollnow, Gunther Weisenborn and Josef Eberle. Text in German. Wrappers and interior vertically creased, due to folding. Wear and tail of wrappers torn. Browned paper back with a few small flaws. otherwise good copy.
