The selections are organized in 141 chapters and have been culled from the following works: Commentaries to the Bible, the Babylonian Talmud, the Midrash, the Liturgy, Responsa to the sages of France and Lorraine, The Book of Light, The Vineyard, Siddur Rashi, Machzor Vitri, Issur V’heter, Shibbolei Haleket, and Hophes Matmonim. Furthermore the anthology includes a poem by his contemporary Abraham Ibn Ezra and brief statements by medieval and renaissance scholars on Rashi’s personality and works. Originally published in 1939. Text in Hebrew. Binding lightly bumped at head and tail of spine. Inked name of previous owner and notes on inside of front cover.
