The book is called “Ihya al-Ulum al-Din or Ihya’ul Ulumuddin” (The Revival of Religious Sciences) and covers virtually all fields of Islamic sciences: Fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence), Kalam (theology) and sufism. The Part that this work covers is Book 12, about marriage. Translated and annotated by German Orientalist Hans Bauer, who also edited the whole series on Islamic Ethics and Morals, of which this is the second part.
