Yehoshafat Harkabi was a distinguished strategist and one of the world’s foremost authorities on the Arab-Israeli conflict. Harkabi’s career as a soldier and a scholar spanned the first four and a half decades in Israel’s history and his writings illuminate the existential dilemma of Jewish survival in an uncommonly harsh and hostile regional environment.
