This work is one of the earliest documentation on the extermination camps of Auschwitz, Birkenau and Majdanek. It contains the detailed testimony of a Polish officer interned at Auschwitz, and a detailed testimony by two inmates in the camps of Auschwitz, Birkenau and Majdanek.

The book contains 5 plans of the various death camps.
