Maroon cloth in clear mylar with gold stamped lettering on spine, housed in an illustrated slipcase with photo-illustration on cover. Frontispiece color reproductions tipped in to both volumes. With an introduction and catalog by Held, this was the first critical study on the drawings of Rubens to appear in thirty years, and was therefore “a significant and much needed contribution to art-historical literature” (publisher). Vol. I contains the text, with 5 full-color reproductions tipped in. Slipcase with light discoloration at edges and bumped at lower spine, acetate is lightly rubbed.
