The vast majority of Fleury’s section on Judaism deals with biblical Israel, with a brief discussion at the end as to how post biblical Judaism degenerated into Pharisees, Sadducees and Essenes before moving on to Christianity, which Fleury saw as the true heir to the biblical religion. His understanding of Judaism came largely from the Bible, Josephus, Church fathers such as Origen, Tertullian and Clement of Alexandria and Johannes Buxtorf the Elder. Text in French.
