With numerous quotes of German cultural luminaries, instead of a preface, and two floor plans of exhibition galleries at front. In 1943 the cultural “gentrification” of pure German and realistic art had reached a state that resulted in the participation of artist, none of which would be considered a “household name” of German art today, or in 1943 for that matter. This sales exhibition is prefaced by an introduction of Wilhelm Rüdiger, explaining the rules and conditions of the show. illustrated with eighty full page b/w reproductions of paintings and sculptures. Text in German. Some light foxing and staining of wraps with one inch chip at tail of spine. Text pages lightly browned, plates in very good condition. Good- to very good condition. Softcover.
