Liska, Hans. Hans Liska. Reichenbach: Junkers / Karl Werner, 1942. Oblong Octavo. (1) 20 leaves. Original string-tied tan half cloth over textured tan boards with gray lettering on cover.

The book was compiled on suggestion of the Junker Airplane and Motor Works A. G. from my sketchbooks. The purpose was to give pleasure to the fighters at the front line as well as the workers of the armament manufacturer in the homeland. The extraordinary sketches, drawings and watercolors, include several models of Junker airplanes in action during the war, various destroyed city scapes, refugees on the move, war reporters at work, pilot portraits, show girls after the armistice in Poland, Stukas during the attack on Crete, an aircraft cemetery, soldiers in battle, an airplane with floaters after landing, a supply transport in Greece, among others. The sketches are printed in color and b/w, most of them with handwritten captions. Text in German. Light sunning of covers along edges with small water stain on back cover near tail of spine. Very good to very good+ condition. Hardcover. (52755) $95
