Various acclaimed silent film actors are used as examples throughout the text, and are depicted in 12 glossy plates of b/w photographic reproductions, including Charlie Chaplin, Laurel & Hardy, Lon Chaney, Adolph Monju, Buster Keaton and Emil Jannings.
