Dutch translation of Guggenheim’s antifascist novel “Erziehung zum Menschen,” which was first published in 1938 in Switzerland. Werner Johannes Guggenheim was a Swiss actor, author, translator and dramatist. In Dr. Cortelli, the author condemns the National Socialist’s ideology of being the superior Aryan race and their “Rassenlehre.” His work was not performed in Switzerland until 1945 because of fear of Nazi retribution. Minor age wear and staining on binding. Parts of dj edges rubbed and creased with few tiny closed tears. Name of previous owner handwritten in small letters on top right corner of free front endpaper. Age toning and offsetting to front and rear endpapers, half-title- and title page.
