Documentation of the events starting with the arson of the building of parliament in Berlin on February 27, 1933 through the infamous two months trial that started on September 21st, 1933 and ended with van der Lubbe’s conviction on December 23rd, 1933 and subsequent decapitation of the felon in January of 1934. Kugler, a Swiss journalist attending the trial, saw van der Lubbe as an egregious criminal towards the end of trial whereas he was convinced at the beginning that van der Lubbe was framed by the Nazis.
