Gerd Rosen had opened his gallery modern and contemporary art in August of 1945 at Kurfürstendamm 215. It is considered the first postwar German gallery, founded by the bookseller Ger Rosen, the businessman and art collector Max Leon Flemming, and the artist Heinz Trökes.

The catalog is illustrated with b/w reproductions of artwork and photographs throughout, including Will Baumeister, Jan Bontjes van Beek, Karl Hartung, Jeanne Mammen, Ernst Wilhelm Nay, Heinz Trökes, Hans Uhlmann, among others, each with shor biographical data and illustrations. Lists of postwar exhibitions and lectures at the gallery at rear, and an offer of a limited edition of graphic art by artists of the Gallery Rosen artist circle. Text in German. Light wear along edges of fwraps, small closed tears and light creasing. Chips at head and tail of spine. Starting lightly at inside front cover.
