Neundörfer, Ludwig. Wie Wohnen? (How to Live?). Leipzig: Verlag der Eiserne Hammer, [ca.1929]. First edition. Octavo. 48pp. Original decorative stiff brow and tan wraps with tan lettering on covers and publisher’s device on back cover, in original photo-illustrated dustjacket with publisher’s device on back cover. Light brown endpapers. All pages with decorative black framing. Title page photo-illustrated. Issued by proxy of the Rhine Main Association for National Education in Frankfurt. Photographs by Fritz Grieshaber.

Contains an essay by Neundörfer on proper living, elaborating on furnishing and appliances, application of color and interior design. His claim is that decoration of an apartment is a primal urge. The essay contains a chapter on costs of furnishing an apartment, including a chart of the costs relating to the items displayed photographically in this brochure. The striking b/w photographs by Fritz Grieshaber, mostly displayed full page from pages 17 through 48, nine addition photos in-text, certainly indicate the style of the general public attitude of New Objectivity. Text in German, Gothic script. Light wear along edges of dustjacket, small chips and one small closed tear. Previous owner’s name inked to front endpaper and small dealer sticker on inside cover. Block with light age-toning. Very good condition. Softcover. (53508) $95
