Reprint of an article published in the “Monatsschrift für Geschichte und Wissenschaft des Judentums”, whereby acclaimed publisher and Judaica curator Rafael Edelmann (see below) talks about unknown Jewish liturgical poems, a.k.a. Pijutim [more often spelled Piyyutim] he discovered at a fragmental manuscript from the Library of Leningrad [today’s Petersburg] – collection under Prof. P. Kahle. The Paytan or author of the Piyyutim was renowned Andulusian- Jewish philosopher and Hebrew poet Solomon Ibn Gabirol (1021-1058), after whom a major street in Tel-Aviv is named. Minor age wear. Raphael Edelmann (1902-1972). First curator of the Judaica collection of the late David Simonsen, later to become the Judaica- and Hebraica-section at the Royal Library of Copenhagen, Danemark. Among Edelmann’s publications were the
